HB Apartment

Located in a late-1950s Soviet-era building with thick tuff stone walls, HB Apartment was fully remodeled after decades of neglect. While rethinking the layout, we aimed to preserve traces of the original interior. Restored gypsum moldings were kept only on their original walls, creating a visual contrast between old and new.

Bold color plays a central role—deep blue defines the core volume that houses the kitchen and two bathrooms, while a leftover structural wall, impossible to remove, was turned into a feature with a burgundy red finish.

A narrow corridor, conceived as a small “street,” leads to three bedrooms, each with a balcony. The dining room opens onto a 30m² terrace that extends the living space through Yerevan’s long summers. Furnishings in a mid-century modern style pay homage to the building’s origins.
